Review: Nyx Blush in Bittersweet

I am not a blush person. But when I saw the name and color of this blush, I decided to take a chance and try it.

I fell in love.

This was from weeks ago.. it's even worse now.
If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with Nyx blush in Taupe for contouring/eyeshadow (like the rest of the fair-skinned world). I thought I was golden forever when I bought that first pan, but nothing last forever. I started panicking when I realized the Nyx website was out of stock, and mine was slowly disappearing.

I saw another lovely blogger named Bec had ordered some Nyx products from a site called Blue Scandal, so of course I rushed to see if they had my beloved Taupe in stock. They did, and I pounced.

While I was there, I decided to take advantage of their coupon codes and pick up a couple more blushes to try. I actually only ended up with one: Bittersweet.

Nyx describes it on their website as "deep mauve/plum with a golden sheen". I looked for swatches, reviews, and FOTDs everywhere, but they weren't easy to find for that shade. I decided that the name and description seemed legit, so I went for it.

I'm so glad I did. It's a deep, mauvey rosy color that blends wonderfully into my Taupe contour. Actually, it's like a darker, rosier version of Taupe.

Here it is next to Taupe, for comparison.

It's quite pink on, but I actually really like it. Something about it jives well with my skin tone.

This is what it looks like used with my usual Taupe contour.

Nyx Blush in Bittersweet
It looks quite pink on me, but not with too much of an orangey or blue-pink undertone, which is what I seem to experience with other blushes I've tried.

I even SMILED (kinda) in this photo because I actually was ok with how the blush looked.

Overall, I love it. The color is beautiful, nice pigmentation, nice staying power, beautiful blending... but honestly, it's the color that got me. I've never actually WANTED to wear a blush before now.
