I had the honor of doing a collaboration with Rebecca Shores! We both created looks around Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Shame.
Ok, I actually did two looks - one for day, one for night, both with a lighter eye and emphasis on the bold lip. But, I didn't take all the makeup off in between. I just tweeked the day look to work for a more dramatic night look!
We both made video tutorials for our looks too! You can find mine here:
And Rebecca's here:
Here's the day look:

I used Shame as a sheer blush to bring some color to my cheeks and make this look a little more fresh than my usual heavy, srs contour. I also used Benefit Highbeam on my cheekbones and the inner corners of my eyes to give this look a more natural, glowy effect. I kept the eyes basic with some Nyx Taupe contouring and Red Cherry #83s, which are perfect for adding length but not volume. They may be my favorite daytime lashes! I left the lipstick a little more sheer, which made it look a little more like a berry stain instead of it's normal full opacity realness. I LOVE that it can be applied sheer or full coverage for variety. I do the same thing with Mac Diva sometimes!

I absolutely love Rebecca's work and she's been a huge inspiration to me this year. Her background in gives her work a very cool vibe, especially the way she uses color.

Awesome collab!! So exciting. You make a good point about low light situations needing simple but effective makeup. I recently followed similar ideals when I went out to the bar for my birthday. Heavy contour, bright lip, more neutral eye.
ReplyDeleteThe change is so subtle yet so dramatic, it really changes from day to night, love it! And I love the bold brows and lips!
